Downey Man Killed Following Possible Dispute Over Payment for Sexual Favors: Police

A 19-year-old woman was arrested after a man was found dead inside an apartment in Downey on Thursday, police said.

The victim, identified as 51-year-old Henry Abney, suffered from apparent stab wounds, according to a news release from the Downey Police Department.

Detectives believed Abney was killed “over a dispute regarding payment for sexual favors,” police said in the release.

As part of the investigation into the homicide, officers detained Lancaster resident Davonna Crisp for questioning, the release stated.

Crisp was later arrested and booked on a murder charge, according to police.
