Two cars were totaled and a street closure was in effect after a fire at an auto body shop in Pasadena Saturday morning, officials said.

The fire could be seen at the Alliance Auto Body Shop at 826 South Arroyo Pkwy. (map) around 7:45 a.m.

The blaze was isolated to the garage and extinguished around 8:10 a.m., Pasadena Fire Department official Lisa Derderian said.

Two cars were totaled and South Arroyo Parkway was closed at the 110 Freeway.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area and use the Fair Oaks Avenue exit on the 110 Freeway if already going through Pasadena, according to a news release from the department.

The closure was expected to remain in place for several hours, the 8 a.m. news release stated.
