Three men have been arrested in connection with an attempted burglary that was interrupted when a resident encountered a suspect inside an Arcadia home, authorities said Tuesday.

Creig D.R. Leagons, 21, and Deandre L. Huston, 20, both of Pasadena, and Erren W. Kelly, 19, of Rialto, were each being held on $100,000 bail after being taken into custody and booked on Monday, according to a news release from the Arcadia Police Department.

The incident began about 8:48 a.m. at a home in the 1100 block of Altura Terrace (map), where the resident heard a sliding-glass door being opened, the release said. The resident walked into a bedroom and confronted a suspect, who then fled out the door without taking any property, according to the Police Department.

The resident then saw the intruder enter a tan-colored car and flee the area, authorities said. No suspects were immediately found after the incident was reported.

Later that morning, about 11:45 a.m., a patrol officer conducted a traffic stop near Encanto Drive and Golden West Avenue after coming upon a tan-colored Lexus with expired registration tags, police said.

The officer contacted two men in the car. A third man was seen running away from the area where the Lexus was pulled over. He detained at nearby Hugo Reid Primary School by other officers.

Leagons, Huston and Kelly were arrested based on witness accounts and evidence found inside the vehicle, officials said.
