Police were searching Friday for a skateboarder and his accomplice wanted for robbing the 94-year-old grandmother of Los Angeles City Councilman Joe Buscaino.

Rosaria LoGrande was targeted while she was shopping with her family at the Santa Fe Seconds bargain store in Wilmington on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, according to Buscaino.

Surveillance video showed the skateboarder and his friend following LoGrande around the store and waiting as she checked out and paid the cashier.

Once the family was in the parking lot, the skateboarder rode up, grabbed the elderly woman's purse and sped off before family members could catch him.

Despite what happened, Buscaino said his grandmother has already forgiven the thieves.

"She's a holy person ... she tells me today maybe they need the extra money for Christmas," Buscaino said.

Anyone with information was urged to contact the LAPD at 310-726-7758.
