A 4-year-old girl with special needs received a new wheelchair Monday, less than a week after her old chair was stolen off the family's porch in Corona.
The chair, which cost thousands of dollars, disappeared last week sometime between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday from the home in the 300 block of West Grand Boulevard, according to a news release from the Corona Police Department.
The loss of the triggered an outpouring of community support and donations.
With help from the San Diego Down Syndrome Society, officers from the Corona Police Department delivered the new chair to the family Monday afternoon.
Coincidentally, the stolen wheelchair was recovered earlier Monday.
The investigation was ongoing and no suspect had been identified, according to police.
Anyone with information about the wheelchair theft was asked to call Corona police at 951-736-2330.
