Torrance Shooting Leaves 27-Year-Old Dead; Search for Gunman Continues

Officials were searching Sunday for a gunman who shot and killed a 27-year-old man in Torrance, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Sheriff’s deputies with the Carson Station responded to reports of a man bleeding and lying in the 22800 block of Berendo Avenue (map) early in the morning, the news release stated at 5:37 a.m.

The man had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses had heard several gunshots in the area but the gunman and possible vehicle were not seen, the release stated.

Officials believed the victim may have been riding a bicycle when he was attacked.
