Shots were reportedly fired in the 1300 block of Brockton Avenue (map) around 9 p.m. Saturday, according to Los Angeles Police Department officials.

Police then responded to the neighborhood and evacuated two nearby apartment buildings, officials at the scene said.

Video showed a man in board shorts and sandals being detained just before 6 a.m. Sunday.

SWAT officers appeared to leave the area around 7:10 a.m., but police remained at the scene.

Although no injuries were reported, LAPD Officer James Richter told the Los Angeles Times that officers were still searching for potential victims.

It was not immediately known if the buildings were still evacuated.
