SWAT Searches Shopping Center After Gunman Robs ‘Olive Garden’ Restaurant in Montebello

Heavily armed SWAT officers searched the Shops at Montebello on Monday after a strong-armed robber held up an “Olive Garden” restaurant and accosted several employees.

It happened around 8:15 a.m. before the restaurant was open, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Five employees were setting up for the day when a man armed with a gun entered the restaurant, the release stated.

The man robbed the employees at gunpoint and stole an unknown amount of cash from the restaurant, according to the release.

Several of the employees were also accosted by the suspect, however no injuries were reported, authorities said.

SWAT members searched the restaurant and the grounds of the shopping center, but the gunman was not located.
