1 Dead, 1 Wounded in Shooting in Church Parking Lot in North Hills

Police were investigating a fatal shooting outside the United Methodist Church of Sepulveda in North Hills on Jan. 22, 2015.

One person was killed and a second wounded in a shooting Thursday night in the parking lot of the United Methodist Church of Sepulveda in North Hills.

The shooting occurred around 9:50 p.m. at the church located in the 15000 block of Rayen Street, according to Officer Jane Kim with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Office.

The shooting was gang related, Kim said.

The gunman was believed to have fled in a gray minivan.
