The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office released these two photos of a man who they say burglarized a Florida BBQ restaurant.

Authorities were asking for the public’s help in finding a man who recently stole thousands of dollars worth of food and an empty cash register from a Jacksonville, Florida BBQ restaurant.

The burglary occurred on Jan. 21 at Jerome Brown BBQ, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post Wednesday.

A man gained entrance into the restaurant by prying open a side door. He then stole $4,000 worth of chicken, ribs, fries and wings and an empty cash register, according to the post.

With the Super Bowl just days away, the post speculated that perhaps he had been getting ready to throw a party for event.

A comment left by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office on the post suggested that the man might “watch the big game with these two that stole three 32” TV’s from Target located in Royal Palm Beach.” The comment included four photos and linked to a Facebook post in which Palm Beach authorities detailed the theft.

Authorities in the Jacksonville case have released two images of the man, whose identity remains unknown, with the hope that the public can provide help with the investigation.
