The suitcase was spotted just before 5 p.m. on the corner of Sixth Street and Irving Boulevard in a Windsor Square neighborhood located near Getty House, according to Officer Jack Richter with the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Office.
A number of neighborhood homes including the mayor's residence were evacuated as a precaution, according to LAPD Detective Aguilar.
