Detectives were investigating a double stabbing in Baldwin Park on Thursday night that left a man dead and a teenage girl hospitalized.

Officers from the Baldwin Park Police Department received a call around 5:26 p.m. about an injured person at a residence on the 4700 block of Maine Avenue.

Arriving officers found an 18-year-old girl on the front porch suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. She was transported to a local hospital where she was being treated for her injuries.

Officers also discovered the body of a Black man in his 30s, in the garage of an adjacent residence, the release stated. The man also appeared to have suffered stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives determined the two individuals had a prior dating relationship and had been involved in a physical struggle.

It had yet to be determined who was the ”suspect” and who was the “victim” in this incident, according to the release.

The weapon had not been located.
