A homicide investigation was underway Sunday after a man’s body was found in a Lake Balboa home after possibly being shot, officials said.

The man was found around 5:15 p.m. Saturday in the 16400 block of Gilmore Street (map), Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Steve Nassief told the Los Angeles Times.

The man’s death was being investigated as a homicide, a watch commander with the LAPD’s West Valley station said.

No weapon was found at the scene, LAPD Sgt. Holst said Saturday night.

The man was possibly shot, Nassief said, but the cause of death had not been determined.

It was also unclear when the man died, officials said.
