The chase began about 6:43 a.m. after a deputy attempted to pull over the male driver, whose speeds were fluctuating on the southbound 101 Freeway, said Capt. Randy Downard of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.

The driver failed to yield, Downard said. He was pursued by sheriff's deputies until they reached the Los Angeles County line, where California Highway Patrol officers took over the chase.

The SUV spun around and came to a stop on the freeway after a CHP officer performed a PIT maneuver, aerial video from Sky5 showed.

The suspect then exited the vehicle, lied down on his stomach and was taken into custody without incident.
