Suspect Arrested in Paramount After Pursuit Involving Stolen Tanker Truck

A man was taken into custody late Sunday night after leading deputies on a pursuit  in a stolen tanker truck, officials said.

The vehicle had been taken from a trucking company in the 6800 block of Rosecrans Avenue in Paramount (map), according to Lt. Vanderhort of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

After an employee of the company followed the suspect and called authorities, deputies responded and spotted the truck at the intersection of Rosecrans and Bellflower Boulevard, the lieutenant said.

A pursuit ensued and lasted about four minutes. It came to an end after the vehicle stopped at Rosecrans Avenue and Paramount Boulevard, the Sheriff's Department said.

The driver surrendered without incident and was taken into custody. He will be booked on suspicion of felony evading and grand theft auto, according to Vanderhort.
