Missing Mar Vista Teenager Located; Several People Detained in Case

Nearly three weeks after a Mar Vista teenager disappeared, she was located in Culver City and reunited with her mother, police said Monday night.

The 15-year-old was last seen March 24 in the 11200 Block of Westminster Avenue (map), according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The girl’s mother told police her daughter went for a walk near the Mar Vista Recreation Center but never returned.

Her mother also indicated the teenager had a form of autism and needed medication.

On Monday, a news release from the LAPD confirmed that several people were being detained in connection with the ongoing investigation into the teenager’s disappearance.

No further details were released.
