A shooting that occurred early Monday morning left one man dead in Inglewood, authorities said.

Homicide detectives were called to the 4000 block of West 111th Street (map) just after midnight to investigate a shooting in the area, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.

A man was found with a gunshot wound and taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

A person who appeared to be in handcuffs was led to a patrol car by authorities, video from the scene showed.

The Sheriff’s Department did not confirm if anyone had been detained.

There was no immediate word on a possible motive for the shooting.
