The chase began after a 21-year-old woman called police about 10:35 a.m., saying she had been kidnapped on Thursday and was able to escape near La Tuna Canyon Road and Sunland Boulevard in Sun Valley, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Rosario Herrera.

The 21-year-old man suspected in the kidnapping was spotted and a pursuit began, the officer said.

The individual appeared went into a parking structure that serves the Burbank Town Center just before 11 a.m., police said.

He was taken into custody without incident after a search inside the Colony Theatre, Burbank police Sgt. Adam Cornils said at the scene. No weapon was found but officers were continuing to look, Cornils said.
