Husband Arrested on Suspicion of Murder After 25-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Santa Clarita Home
A 48-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after his wife was found dead in their Santa Clarita home early Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
An investigation into the woman’s death began when deputies from the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station went to perform a “welfare check” at a home in the 22800 block of Ninth Street at 2:10 a.m. and found the victim lying in the living room, a Sheriff’s Department’s news release stated.
The 25-year-old woman, identified as Courtney Arvizu, was unresponsive and “appeared to have injuries consistent with blunt force trauma,” the release said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her husband, Robert Arvizu, was located in the residence and initially detained, according to the release.
After an investigation, he was arrested on suspicion of murder and was being held in lieu of $1-million bail, sheriff’s officials said in the release.
No further details were immediately released.
