Homicide Investigators Respond After Man Is Found Dead in Canyon Country

A sheriff's deputy discovered a man's body Sunday morning while inspecting an illegally parked vehicle in Canyon Country, a community in the City of Santa Clarita, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

A deputy from the Santa Clarita Sheriff's Station was en route to the blue Honda Accord, parked on the shoulder near Golden Valley Road and Robert C. Lee Parkway (map), around 9:30 a.m., a news release stated.

During the deputy's investigation, he conducted an inventory search of the car in preparation for it to be towed and discovered a man's body inside.

Homicide detectives were investigating the cause of death.

The car's location is near a residential area and Golden Valley High School.
