The attack occurred in a park next to an elementary school in a “safe and prosperous” residential area that rarely sees violent crime, police said.

The motive for the killing was still unknown.

“My dad never had an enemies … at work, nor outside with the public, nowhere,” daughter Harlen Kaur said of her father at the time of the crime.

The City of Oxnard was offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect(s) in homicide cases.
