Motorcyclist Dies After Pursuit Ends in Orange

A man being pursued by the California Highway Patrol died Friday morning after the motorcycle he was driving crashed at an intersection in Orange, authorities said.

The chase ended in the collision about 4 a.m. at Batavia Street and Katella Avenue, a spokesman for the Orange Police Department said.

Officers from that agency responded to the scene, where the motorcyclist was pronounced dead, the spokesman said. No pedestrians or other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Coroner’s officials were en route to the location to remove the body.
