Elderly Man Found Dead in La Crescenta After Suffering Blunt Force Trauma; Homicide Investigation Underway

An investigation continued Saturday into the death of an elderly man who was found in La Crescenta after dying of apparent blunt force trauma, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

Homicide detectives responded about 1:30 p.m. to the 3000 block of Frances Avenue, according to a news release. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name was not immediately released. He was described by authorities as a white man in his 70s.

The death was initially described as “suspicious” in a sheriff’s statement. The official cause is expected to be determined by coroner’s officials.

“There is no suspect information,” the Sheriff’s Department said in a news release Saturday.
