Ruben Olguin, 51, was arrested last Friday at the Salon De Belleza Nuevo Guadalajara  — which is located at 118 E. 4th St. in Santa Ana — on suspicion of lewd acts with a child, the Santa Ana Police Department stated in a news release.

The alleged molestation occurred at the store last month, according to police.

The unidentified victim went to see Olguin, his usual barber, while his mother waited outside the business, the release stated.

During the visit, Olguin took the teen to a private location to the rear of the salon to shampoo his hair. The barber then allegedly molested the boy, according to police.

Olguin was being held at the Orange County Jail on $100,000 bail.

Due to the barber’s access to children and the general public, investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying any other potential victims, the release stated. They were also looking for anyone who may have witnessed the suspect “act inappropriately.”

Anyone with information has been encouraged to contact Santa Ana police Detective Cpl. Javier Aceves at 714-245-8542, or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-847-6227.
