A man was detained following an hourslong barricade at a Koreatown apartment after his boyfriend said he was threatened with a knife and scissors, according toLos Angeles Police Department officials.

Police responded to reports of a domestic violence incident involving an assault with a deadly weapon around 3:10 a.m. near South Normandie Avenue and West Third Street (map), LAPD Officer Lee said.

A man told responding officers that his boyfriend had threatened him with a knife and scissors, and he remained inside the apartment.

The possibly armed man refused officers requests that he exit the building. SWAT officials were called and tenants were evacuated.

The man was detained around 6 a.m., Sky5 aerial footage showed. Lee confirmed the barricade situation had ended.
