Police Seek Man Who Robbed 2 Santa Ana Stores Within 3 Hours

A man who robbed both a 7-Eleven and a gas station mini mart in Santa Ana within three hours early Thursday morning was being sought by police.

The robberies occurred at 3:48 a.m. at the 7-Eleven at 1203 S. Standard Ave., and at 6:12 a.m. at an am/pm at 122 E. 1st St.

The two locations are less than 1 1/2 miles apart.

In both instances, the man simulated a weapon and demanded money, fleeing on foot.

Santa Ana Police Department Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said investigators did not know if the man actually had a weapon.

The robber was described as white with a light complexion, 28 to 33 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, and150 pounds, according to a Santa Ana Police Department news release. He was wearing a “distinctive camouflage jacket” and a blue Nike backpack.

Bertagna said the robber could be homeless.
