Zachary Benton Self was accused of entering the singer’s home on Nov. 29, a DA’s office news release stated on Thursday. The home was undergoing renovations, and Del Rey — whose real name is Elizabeth Grant — was not home at the time.

Construction workers observed the man and called the police, but he left by the time they arrived.

Deputies located property in the garage that apparently belonged to Self, including paperwork and a computer hard drive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Undercover detectives contacted the suspect the following day, and made arrangements to meet up with him in Santa Monica, sheriff’s officials said.

He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of burglary and stalking, according to the Sheriff’s Department, which noted investigators recovered evidence from Del Rey’s property at the time he was taken into custody.

Self allegedly began stalking the singer through social media starting on Nov. 2, prosecutors said in the release.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge during his arraignment on Thursday, according to Ricardo Santiago, a spokesman for the DA’s office. A preliminary hearing in the case was scheduled for Dec. 16.

Self faces a maximum sentence of six years, eight months in state prison if convicted on the charge.

The case remained under investigation.
