44-Year-Old Man Struck, Killed in Pico-Union Area Hit-and-Run; Driver Sought

Police asked the public for help in their investigation into the death of a 44-year-old man who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in the Pico-Union area of Los Angeles Thursday morning.

The crash occurred on Pico Boulevard just west of Cherry Avenue at about 5:50 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department stated in a news release.

The victim, described only as a Hispanic man, was found lying in the street underneath the 110 Freeway.

He was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Police Department.

Witnesses called 911 to report seeing the man’s body in the roadway, but none had seen the initial collision, the Police Department stated.

Investigators had no description of the vehicle or the driver at the time of the news release.
