Firefighters worked to extricate a driver after his or her pickup slammed into the back of a delivery truck in La Mirada on Monday morning.

The crash occurred around 8 a.m. on Trojan Way at Alondra Boulevard, and the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Urban Search and Rescue team was dispatched.

Aerial video from Sky5 showed a white pickup truck severely damaged, with its hood lodged under the back of a box truck labeled Frito-Lay.

Firefighters were working to remove a door from the truck to get to the driver inside.

A sheriff’s rescue helicopter was waiting to transport the driver to a hospital, according to tweets from the Fire Department’s spokesman.
