Kvon Devonte Harris was arrested and booked on suspicion of rape as well as forgery and check fraud, according to a news release from the university.

The victim came forward Saturday and told authorities she was attending a house party on Thursday in the 10900 block of Strathmore Avenue when she decided to leave about 11 p.m., the UCLA Police Department stated in a crime alert issued Tuesday.

An unknown man escorted her to her room on campus in the 200 block of De Neve Drive where he sexually assaulted her, the woman told police.

The attacker later contacted the woman, which allowed police to identify him as Harris, the release stated.

Harris was known to frequent establishments near UCLA and was spotted at a coffee shop in the 10900 block of Weyburn Avenue in Westwood Village where he was taken into custody.

Harris was already being sought for forgery and check fraud.

He was being held on $140,000 bail.

UCLA police asked anyone with information about Harris to contact detectives at 310-825-1491.
