‘NCIS’ Actress Pauley Perrette Describes Tense Encounter With Homeless Man Months After Assault
Nearly three months after being attacked by a homeless person in the Hollywood Hills, actress Pauley Perrette on Wednesday described the tense moments of another encounter with a transient that she said left her “scared.”
In the latest incident, the 46-year-old actress wrote on Twitter that she was coming home from work when she stopped at a red light on Cahuenga Boulevard.
“There was a pretty off homeless guy asking for money from drivers. I keep ones in my glove box for this very reason,” she said.
The actress got the man’s attention and held out a dollar bill, telling him “God bless you.” He came to the vehicle’s window and took the money.
Then, he suddenly grabbed her wrist and put his whole head inside his car, she said. The man continued to hold her arm as he asked for the time.
“He was in my car and I was scared,” Perrette wrote.
At that point, she looked at the dashboard and said, “I rebuke you satan in the name of Jesus Christ.” Perrette then told him, “It’s 5:37.”
The men held her wrist for another moment before releasing it and leaving.
“I am learning,” she said. “I need to know both sides, be smart and be safe and give. But all of them at once.”
Perrette added that she wondered whether any drivers witnessed him grabbing her, but “did nothing.”
Hours later, the actress tweeted that she was “totally OK,” but said what took place was just “incredibly weird.”
The incident came nearly three months after a 45-year-old homeless man “viciously assaulted” her near her Hollywood Hills home on Nov. 12, repeatedly telling Perrette that he was going to kill her.
The suspect, identified as David Merck, was arrested on suspicion of felony battery, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The actress, who said she was “terrified” at the time of the November assault, said the following day in a phone interview that she was “OK” and felt “safe” again.
