Murder Suspect Sought After South L.A. Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured: Police

A murder suspect was being sought Tuesday after a shooting in the Green Meadows neighborhood of South L.A. left one person dead and another injured, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of McKinley Avenue and East 87th Place, Capt. Al Pasos of the Los Angeles Police Department's Southeast Division said on Twitter shortly before 9 a.m.

They arrived to find one person dead and another wounded, Officer Liliana Preciado said. The condition of the injured victim was not immediately known.

News video from Sky5 showed multiple LAPD vehicles at the scene, where a perimeter was established as the search of the gunman got underway.

Police later identified the suspect as Juan Rodriguez and released a photo of him.
