Death of USC Student Under Investigation After Body Found in Off-Campus Apartment

Detectives were investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 23-year-old student at the University of Southern California whose body was found Tuesday in an off-campus apartment, authorities said.

The student was discovered around 2:25 p.m. at the 30th Street Court Apartments, according to USC Annenberg Media.

The Los Angeles Police Department and USC's Department of Public Safety were both at the scene Tuesday, the campus website reported.

It was believed the unidentified student died of an accidental overdose, DPS Chief David Carlisle told the website.

No other information about the ongoing investigation was released.
