The single car crash occurred on Sierra Highway near Newhall Avenue just before 1 a.m., said Lt. Cambra with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Two people inside the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene and a third person was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition, Cambra said.

None of the people involved in the crash were immediately identified.

The Chevy Cavalier appeared to have been headed northbound on Sierra Highway when the driver somehow lost control and crashed into a power pole.
