Two people were killed and a third was hospitalized after a driver lost control and crashed in Santa Clarita early Tuesday morning.
The single car crash occurred on Sierra Highway near Newhall Avenue just before 1 a.m., said Lt. Cambra with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Two people inside the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene and a third person was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition, Cambra said.
None of the people involved in the crash were immediately identified.
The Chevy Cavalier appeared to have been headed northbound on Sierra Highway when the driver somehow lost control and crashed into a power pole.
The northbound lanes of Sierra Highway between Foothill Boulevard and Newhall Avenue were temporarily closed following the crash.
The cause of crash was under investigation.
