Martin Rodriguez Garcia was taken into custody following an investigation that began several months ago when authorities began looking into allegations that he sexually assaulted several girls, the Huntington Beach Police Department said in a news release.

The alleged assaults occurred between 1990 and 2011, with the majority reported in Huntington Beach and other Orange County cities, the release stated.

Garcia is accused of having access to the victims when they were between the ages of 5 and 13. Police said they were not immediately releasing the number of victims and their association to the suspect.

He was arrested recently in Las Vegas, where he lived.

Authorities are looking into the possibility that other minors may have been victimized by Garcia. The victims would have likely been between the ages of 5 and 15, and living in Huntington Beach or other Orange County communities between 1990 and 2015, the release stated.

Anyone with information is asked to call police Detective Goodspeed at 714-375-5066

Garcia is scheduled to be arraigned in court Monday on 20 counts related to the case.
