A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Tarzana last week, LAPD announced Tuesday.

Joseph Perez-Coronel and Cindy Catalan are accused of killing Miles Rose outside his Hatteras Street apartment complex on May 5, officials said.

Rose, 26, was found with two gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead after crashing a car into a parking structure.

Los Angeles Police Department detectives believe the motive was a narcotics robbery and that the incident was not random.

“We want the residents in the neighborhood to realize the shooting was not random; the persons involved all knew each other, and drug use was at the root,” Capt. Paul Vernon, commanding officer of the West Valley Patrol Division said in a news release.

Perez-Coronel, 22, and Catalan, 25, were arrested Monday morning as they were leaving a motel in San Fernando.

They were each booked on suspicion of murder and bail was set at $2 million, officials said.
