The victim was walking home from about 10 p.m. on March 27 when she cut through an alley, according to a Los Angeles Police Department news release.

The man apparently grabbed her and held her against the wall with a knife to her throat. He then sexually assaulted the woman and ran away, officials said.

The woman was not injured and didn’t tell anyone about the incident for weeks.

Detectives later canvassed the area for surveillance footage of the incident. The suspect is described as being 25 to 27 years old, with a medium height and build.
