2 Shot in Santa Ana Cemetery After Fight Breaks Out at Grave Site

Two men were wounded after a fight led to a shooting in a Santa Ana cemetery early Sunday afternoon, police said.

The incident began around 12:30 p.m. when a group approached the two men who were at a grave site, according to the Santa Ana Police Department. Police had initially given an incorrect address, but later clarified the incident happened at the Santa Ana Cemetery, located at 1919 E. Santa Clara Ave.

Then, for an unknown reason, a fist fight ensued, police said. The physical altercation escalated when shots were fired, hitting the two men in the lower body.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital with injuries that appeared to be non-life-threatening, according to police.

The two men, who have not been identified, are in their 20s, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Their attackers got away. Police did not have a description of any of the group members.

No additional information was immediately released.
