One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash that forced an hours-long closure of an intersection in the Mid-Wilshire neighborhood of Los Angeles Monday morning.
The crash occurred about 12:40 a.m. near the intersection of South San Vicente Boulevard and South La Brea Avenue, said Sgt. Matt McNalty with the Los Angeles Police Department.
Three vehicles were involved in the collision, which left the driver of a black sedan dead at the scene, McNalty said.
That car, which was occupied only by the driver, was struck head-on, McNalty said.
Four others, including three men and one woman, were hospitalized in serious condition, McNalty said.
The cause of the crash was under investigation, but there was no indication of street racing, McNalty said.
A SigAlert was issued for the intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol’s incident log.
The intersection was reopened about 7:15 a.m., the CHP tweeted.
