Taxi Driver Killed in Suspected DUI Collision Involving 3 Vehicles in West Hollywood

A taxi driver was killed in a suspected DUI collision involving three vehicles early Saturday morning in West Hollywood.

The collision happened near the intersections of La Brea and Fountain avenues just before 2 a.m.

The taxi and an Uber with at least one passenger were traveling eastbound on Fountain, crossing La Brea when a woman driving a Hyundai ran a red light and collided with the two vehicles, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The taxi driver was hospitalized and later died.

The driver of the Hyundai, who was also hospitalized, was suspected of DUI, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The Uber driver and passenger were not injured.
