Twelve suspected gang members have been indicted in connection with a residential burglary ring spanning across Southern California, officials announced Monday.
The 10 men and two women are all alleged members of the East Coast Crips, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, and have each pleaded not guilty to 40 felony counts including charges of conspiracy to commit residential burglary, burglary and attempted burglary.
Four indictments were unsealed Monday and linked the 12 suspects to 37 residential burglaries and three attempted residential burglaries around Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange and San Bernardino counties.
The suspects are alleged to have ransacked houses in search of jewelry, gold, money and safes, prosecutors added. In some cases, the homeowners were present at the time of the burglaries.
