Amber Alert in Bay Area Canceled After Baby Boy Found Safe: CHP

The California Highway Patrol canceled an Amber Alert that was active in several Bay Area counties Thursday after an 11-month-old baby boy was found safe.

Few details were immediately provided about how William Brown was found, other than that he was safely located.

The little boy had been kidnapped around 8 p.m. Wednesday in San Francisco, according to a CHP news release.

The Amber Alert went it effect for San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, Contra Costa, Solano, Santa Clara and Alameda counties around 10:20 a.m. It was deactivated around 2:30 p.m., CHP tweeted.

It was not immediately known whether the suspect, identified by CHP as 44-year-old Phoebe Haynes, was found with the child.
