Woman Hit by Car, Killed While Crossing The Street in San Bernardino

San Bernardino police are investigating on Sunday after a woman was hit by a car and killed while crossing the street.

Officers began receiving calls of a vehicle-pedestrian traffic collision at Baseline Street and Arrowhead Avenue around 5:48 a.m. Authorities arrived to find a woman lying in the street, suffering from major head injuries.

The victim had been struck by a red Honda CRV and was transported to St. Bernardine’s Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with officers, according to the police in a press release. The woman was crossing the street, mid-block, when was she was hit, witnesses said.
