Man Injured After Officer-Involved Shooting in Long Beach

A man is in the hospital after being shot by a Long Beach police officer on Sunday, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Officers were near Pacific Coast Highway and Lemon Avenue around 3:21 p.m. investigating an armed robbery.

During the course of the investigation, an officer-involved shooting occurred, according to Marlene Arrona, Public Information Officer for the Long Beach Police.

The man who sustained the gunshot wounds was transported to a local hospital. His current condition is unknown.

Police found a weapon at the scene and no officers were injured in the shooting.

Pacific Coast Highway, from Orange Avenue to Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, is closed due to the investigation.
