Placentia Gas Station Robbed by Armed Man Wearing Halloween Mask: Police

Authorities are searching for a man who was wearing a Halloween mask when he robbed a Chevron gas station at gunpoint in Placentia early Monday.

Officers responded to the 300 block of West Orangethorpe Avenue around 1:20 a.m. after receiving a report of an armed robbery, the Placentia Police Department said in a news release.

The clerk told the officers that a man dressed in black clothing and wearing a white Halloween mask had robbed him at gunpoint, the release stated. He fled with a small amount of cash and was last seen in a vehicle headed westbound on Orangethorpe.

The robber was described by police as 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.

His mask resembled one from the popular “Scream” movies, according to the release.

Police did not immediately have a description of the vehicle.
