With the traditionally busy holiday shopping season quickly approaching, Target is looking to hire more than 75,000 seasonal employees, the company announced Monday.
The majority of the positions — about 70,000 — will be for the retailer’s stores, according to a Target news release.
An additional 7,500 team members will work in the company’s distribution facilities, which fulfills online orders and ships products to stores nationwide.
Each of Target’s 1,800 locations will host hiring events on Oct. 14 and 15, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Those who can’t make the in store events or don’t want to wait are encouraged to apply online.
Existing team members get to choose their extra holiday hours first, and seasonal hires will help with the additional work, the release stated.
Employee perks include competitive pay, 10 percent discounts on store purchases and a flexible schedule, according to the website.
