Teen in Critical Condition After Being Struck by Minivan in Fullerton; Hit-and-Run Driver Sought

A teen was critically injured after being struck by a hit-and-driver while riding a bicycle in Fullerton Sunday night, police said.

The teen was in the 900 block of of Brookhurst Street when he or she was struck by a minivan around 10 p.m., according to Fullerton Police Department Sgt. Brian Paquaw.

The bicyclist, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was taken to a hospital. The victim was last reported to be in critical but stable condition, Paquaw said.

The minivan fled the scene after the collision, according to Paquaw.

Witnesses reported to police that the vehicle had been driving erratically before the crash.

The minivan was described only as a mid-2000s Dodge; authorities did not have a description of the driver.

No further details were immediately available.
