Los Angeles County and city firefighters contained a three-acre brush fire in La Canada Flintridge Monday night, officials said.

The blaze was reported about 9 p.m. in the 1950 block of Hilldale Drive near a YMCA, officials said.

About three acres of heavy brush were burning uphill near homes, but there was no immediate threat to structures, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Supervisor Michael Pittman.

A helicopter was making water drops on the fire, aerial video from Sky5 showed.

By 10 p.m. the fire appeared to be contained, the Los Angeles Times reported.
