The victim was hit about 3:30 a.m. near the intersection of Burbank Boulevard and Bonner Avenue, said Detective Bill Bustos with the Los Angeles Police Department.

The victim, who was believed to be in her 70s or 80s, was in critical condition following the crash and may not make it, Bustos said.

She later died of her injuries.

Video from the scene showed the victim’s crumpled wheelchair and several personal belongings still lying in the street as authorities investigated the scene.

LAPD said the driver sought in connection with the fatal incident was behind the wheel of a 2010-2013 white Ford Transit van.
