Thomas Bright was taken into custody about 7 a.m. after a three-month investigation, according to a Fontana Police Department news release.

He has a previous conviction for possession of child pornography, police said. The California’s Megan’s Law website showed that conviction and indicated Bright’s age is 71.

Bright was taken into custody at his home in the 15000 block of Baywood Lane and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. Police said several items of evidence were seized from the home in addition to more than 2,000 images or videos.

Fontana police also Wednesday announced the arrest of 22-year-old Marc Macias on suspicion of possession of child pornography.

After officers went to Macias’ home to serve an “outstanding warrant … for a previous arrest of possession of child pornography,” family members told detectives he had new electronic equipment since an earlier search warrant was served, according to a police news release.

Hundreds of images showing child pornography were found and Macias was arrested Sept. 23. There is no record on the Megan’s Law website indicating a conviction for anyone by Macias’ name.

He was arrested in the 17000 block of Upland Avenue, inmate records show.

Bright is being held on $100,000 bail and is due in court Friday. Macias is being held on the same amount and is due in court Monday.
